Chronic pain in dogs and cats presents in multiple ways, including changes in behavior. In many cases, behavioral changes are a direct manifestation of underlying pain and can precede the more obvious signs we associate with musculoskeletal pain. Learn why pain assessment should be integral to any behavioral consultation and how to incorporate it.

This webinar will cover:

  • Why chronic pain can present as a behavioral problem
  • When to suspect pain as the cause of behavioral changes
  • The link between pain, fear, and anxiety
  • Assessment tools for determining if pain is present
  • Pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions for pain management, including environmental modifications
  • Tools for tracking the success of interventions

Participants will earn 1 RACE-approved CE credit upon successful completion of the quiz after viewing the webinar.
