Annual AAEP Convention – Denver, CO
CAETA is bringing their small animal cadaver technique laboratory to the 2019 American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) annual convention.
Abstract: Equine euthanasia is an art form and a very different experience compared to small animal euthanasia for most practitioners. The fundamentals of the appointment are the same; gentle death, reduced anxiety and stress, pain-free, but the techniques and how we achieve euthanasia in the little ones are unique. Equine practitioners comfortable with gently laying down a horse often feel unprepared to work with smaller-veined species. In this laboratory, you will practice the 5 most common injection techniques for small animals; intravenous, intracardiac, intrahepatic, intrarenal, and intraperitoneal. You will gain confidence performing euthanasia in a variety of species and increase the odds of successful euthanasia the first time, while reducing those challenging situations. The laboratory also presents information on memorialization and building a mobile euthanasia kit. Want to be better at small animal euthanasia? This is the perfect opportunity.
Registration for this event will take place through the AAEP website.
